Job Overview This is a very exciting opportunity to help make a real difference to increasing access to psychological services across stepped care mental health services in North Wales, taking a leadership role in psychological development, training, supervision and supporting multidisciplinary staff in increasing access initiatives across stepped care mental health services including primary care mental health. You will receive professional leadership and support from a welcoming and growing AMH Clinical Psychology & Psychological Services, with excellent clinical and research links with the School of Psychology and the DClinPsych Department at the University of Wales, Bangor. This position is part-time (18.75hrs) based in the Central area. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to applyMain duties of the job The post holder will benefit from BCUHB wide professional links across the North Wales within Clinical Psychology, with opportunity for research and clinical networking both in North Wales and All Wales wide. You will be well supported and mentored, with the opportunity for ongoing peer support and advancement. We are looking for an experienced, resilient, and highly motivated Clinical Psychologist to be part of this initiative within BCUHB. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of service developments in North Wales which will support and shape the implementation of the Matrics Cymru locally, and support local clinical quality assurance in psychological therapies developments going forward. Much of this work will be working alongside existing MDT colleagues, but this initiative will also include being responsible for staff to support you in this work. - Good Honours degree in Psychology. Eligibility for BPS Chartered status.
- Registration with HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist
- Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS
Desirable criteria
- Advanced training in research design and methodology
- Formal training in supervision.
ExperienceEssential criteria
- Appropriate experience of working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist, including substantial supervised post-qualification expertise and experience within adult mental health
- Additional specialist supervised training, mentoring, research or study, specialist courses and clinical supervision in the area of adult clinical psychology and managerial issues.
Aptitude And AbilitiesEssential criteria
- Ability to use highest level of interpersonal and communication skills, requiring empathy and reassurance, to convey and receive highly complex/sensitive information effectively in a highly emotive atmosphere, and ability to overcome psychological resistance to potentially threatening information, whilst maintaining high degree of professionalism at all times
