Are you organised, analytical and keen to develop a career in quality management systems, compliance, data protection and business improvement?
Join Advanced Secure Technologies and take a leading role in developing the systems and practices that support our growing security technology business.
You will lead the application and continual improvement of our quality management systems, covering ISO 9001, ISO 27001 and our B Corp commitments. You will also manage our Annual Order of Business cycle, coordinate company policy management and lead internal audit activity and operational data protection.
Combining quality management with project management and elements of business analysis, you will work across departments to audit against our quality systems, identify requirements, improve processes and deliver change. Alongside this, you will act as the company's main operational lead for data protection, helping ensure compliance and good practice in how we handle personal information.
You do not need to bring experience in every area. We welcome applicants with relevant foundations, transferable skills and a keen desire to learn, with training and internal support to help you grow into the full broad role remit.
This is a hands-on role both managing and doing the work required to drive the business forward.
What You'll Be Doing
Quality management, governance and continual improvement
- Lead the implementation, maintenance and continual improvement of our quality and information security management systems, alongside objectives we set aligned to our ethos as a certified B Corp
- Manage the company's Annual Order of Business cycle, scheduling recurring business reporting, governance activities, agreeing owners and deadlines, and tracking completion
- Manage the company's policy suite within this cycle, coordinating drafting, consultation, approval, version control, review and communication with policy owners
- Lead a planned programme of internal audits against our management systems, coordinating auditors, reporting findings and verifying that corrective actions are effective
- Coordinate external audits, certification activity and management reviews, maintaining clear evidence of compliance, performance and progress
- Apply business analysis and project management to identify gaps, map processes, define requirements and deliver improvements across departments
- Maintain oversight of risks, non-conformities and improvement actions, reporting progress and escalating overdue actions or significant concerns
- Lead day-to-day data protection compliance, working with the company's Data Protection Officer, leadership team and relevant specialists
- Maintain accurate data maps, records of processing activities and retention schedules, ensuring these reflect how personal information is collected, used, shared and deleted
- Coordinate data protection impact assessments and embed privacy considerations into new systems, projects and changes to business processes
- Manage the operational response to individual rights requests and personal data incidents, ensuring timely investigation, escalation and follow-through
- Review supplier and customer data protection arrangements, monitor relevant developments and provide practical guidance and training to colleagues
What we're looking for
- An awareness of, and practical experience in, one or more relevant areas: compliance, quality systems, data protection, auditing, policy coordination, project support or business process improvement

- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, coordinate deadlines and follow actions through to completion
- An analytical and practical approach, with an interest in understanding how processes work and identifying ways to improve them
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the confidence to ask questions, work across teams and follow up with colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail, sound judgement and a responsible approach to handling confidential information
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 27001 or other management systems
- An understanding of UK GDPR or experience supporting data protection activities
