Please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any time should it be filled via the internal redeployment processJob Overview The Senior Project Manager will lead the delivery of a new digital risk management system for the Health Board. This fixed-term role, expected to run for 18 months, will support the organisation’s transition from its current risk management system, due to be decommissioned in late 2027, to a modern, integrated replacement. Main duties of the job The Health Board is seeking a solution that is accessible, provides real-time intelligence, and offers clear oversight of organisational risk. It should also have the ability to integrate with other quality management systems, strengthening operational safety, enhancing service quality, supporting the delivery of organisational objectives, and contributing to the long-term sustainability of the Health Board. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for scoping the Health Board’s requirements, engaging with external suppliers to assess their suitability and proposals, liaising with key stakeholders across the organisation, and presenting regular updates. - Extensive experience in the management, development and use of project documentation
- Previous extensive experience of planning and managing complex projects
- Experience and understanding of issue and change management, process change, information management and technology issues
- Sound understanding of risk management
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing digital projects within a public sector setting
Qualifications & Knowledge Essential criteria
- PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent experience in project management methodologies
- Advanced knowledge of techniques for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and closing projects e.g. PRINCE2
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge and understanding of NHS software applications/ICT infrastructure
