Job Description
Posted on: May 8, 2026
Job Overview About The Role At AO, we’re all about making things simple, brilliant and personal-for our customers and our people. As we continue to grow our B2B offering, we’re looking for a commercially driven B2B Business Development Manager to help shape and scale this exciting pillar of the business. It will be a full lifecycle B2B role where you’ll be responsible for winning new commercial partnerships while also growing, retaining and maximising existing accounts to deliver sustainable, profitable revenue. You’ll work with organisations across a wide range of sectors- from charities and local housing authorities to large corporate businesses-acting as a true partner from first conversation through to long term account growth and renewal. If you love winning new business and building long term partnerships, this is a role where you can really make your mark. Our people are our superpower, and we’re unstoppable when we’re together! We want your ideas to flow, and what better way to make that happen than being based onsite, 5 days a week, where our culture fuels creativity, collaboration and growth. If a £1 bet in the pub between two friends can become the UKs most trusted electrical retailer, imagine what else can be achieved when we’re together Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
- Building and owning a strong pipeline of new business and account growth opportunities.
- Identifying, winning and smoothly onboarding new B2B partnerships within your target markets.
- Taking full ownership of an existing portfolio of accounts, building long term relationships and spotting opportunities to grow through upsell and cross sell.
- Turning opportunities into revenue by delivering against agreed targets and forecasts.
- Acting as the main point of contact for key clients, making sure they feel supported, valued and keen to keep working with AO.
- Working closely with our Commercial, Trade and Supply teams to qualify opportunities and get the best performance from every account.
- Bringing internal teams and external decision makers together to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing account management.
- Producing and sharing clear, insightful weekly, monthly and quarterly performance and account updates.
- Representing AO at exhibitions, networking events and industry forums, always putting our brand and values front and centre.
- Building trusted, credible relationships with senior stakeholders across client organisations
A Few Things About You
- Numerous years’ experience in a B2B sales or account management role.
- Proven experience of self generating new business from scratch, alongside managing and growing existing accounts.
- Strong commercial acumen with a results and target driven mindset-you’re someone who thrives in a fast paced environment
- Confidence managing senior stakeholders and long term client relationships.
- A resilient, tenacious approach- you don’t give up easily and enjoy the challenge of winning.
A Bit About Us We’re big on appliances and electricals, REALLY big. Washing machines, fridge freezers and TVs? They’re our bread and butter. Mobiles, Airwraps and Ring doorbells? Yep, those too. If it plugs in, powers up or makes life easier, AO probably has it. But we’re more than that… For over 25 years, trust has been at the heart of everything we do, helping us become the UK’s most trusted electrical retailer. Our customers rate us 4.9 on Trustpilot from nearly ONE MILLION reviews and more 5-star ratings than any other UK electrical retailer, because they know they can rely on us and it’s the exact same for our AOers too. We truly believe it’s more than just a job, we genuinely care about each other and our impact on making our customers lives easier, by helping them brilliantly. Everyone here knows how their role makes a difference. Our people are our superpower, so, when it comes to finding new AOers, we know it’s about more than just a CV, it’s about what makes you, YOU.
