Job description: Purpose of the Job

Responsible for end to end control of all shipments coming into and out of Roadfreight depot in Trafford Park. Supervisory and Management responsibilities in regard to other team members. Highly focused, administrative role so attention to detail is essential

Job Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervisory responsibility for a team of Freight Operations Executives.
  2. The first point of escalation for any issues arising in the department, providing detailed explanations and resolutions where required.
  3. Liaising between the local transport provider and job owners to ensure the smooth transfer of information regarding local collections and deliveries.
  4. To accept bookings onto the internal Aramex system that have been booked on the portal directly by customers.
  5. Create and issue manifests for deliveries assigned to the correct haulier each day.
  6. Monitor, chase and process all POD’s ensuring timely updating of the internal system.
  7. Log and report outturn daily reports for inbound trailers, providing updates and any missing delivery notes to the local transport team.
  8. Accept EDI transfers into the internal Aramex system for trailers arriving into Trafford Park depot from Germany, book in deliveries with consignees and pass all relevant information over to transport team.
  9. Contact hauliers to provide quotations for any collection/delivery requirements outside of agreed service level.
  10. Ensure all shipments being collected on a given day are assigned to correct clearance manifest to allow customs team to complete customs clearances.
  11. Assist the Linehaul department by updating them on changes to the volume of freight being collected each day so export trailers can be planned effectively.
  12. Book required space for each evening’s export from Trafford Park to Belfast.
  13. Customer Service - dealing with queries from customers, subcontractors and drivers and assist in their enquiries via phone and email, ensuring satisfactory and timely resolution.
  14. Data entry with attention to detail.
  15. Maintaining a daily report for the accounts department detailing any and all shipments that have incurred any charges outside of the set tariffs. All additional costs to be approved by job owners/customers before being arranged.
  16. Ensuring the operations within Trafford Park are passing internal compliance reports. 

Additional Requirements:

  1. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the postholder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Company from time to time. Subject to adequate experience and/or training.
  2. To participate in the annual performance appraisal and objective setting scheme.
  3. To work in accordance with all company policies including Health and Safety, Employment, Staff, Quality and Environmental.
  4. It is important that during the employment with the Company and any time thereafter, that any information relating to the affairs of the Company is treated with the highest level of confidentiality.
  5. To have a detailed knowledge of and apply the Company’s Business Plan in all aspects of development
