About The Role The main function of the role is to produce CAD drawings for electrical switchgear and interface projects. This includes but not limited to. Equipment control schematics and single line wiring diagrams HV, LV and control cable routes Interface electrical designs between old and new equipment. Interpreting supplier equipment interface schematics Working as part of a design team delivering excellence What you'll be doing Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with standard Company Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Procedures and Business Management Systems Upon contract award, liaise and co-ordinate contract requirements with Design Engineer / Designer / Project Manager at the earliest opportunity Establish Design content of work package and the Design resource to achieve the required time scales via development of detail design plans. Effectively control, update and report on progress throughout contract life, giving estimates to complete and highlight potential problems. Report variations in the Contract Scope of Work to the CAD Manager / Senior Designer. Design work to be undertaken with due regard to standards as identified by Senior Designer Any perceived design risk should be reported to the Senior Designer and Project manager Attend and contribute to Design Reviews / Contract Close-out Meetings Prepare copies of all required approved drawings to be submitted for customer / sub-contractor interface. Receive “As Installed” drawings and documentation from site to ensure accurate and final records are prepared and submitted to the client in line with the requirements of the contract specification Who we're looking for The individual will ideally have an ONC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent Experience of Electrical Design, especially on electrical switchgear & panel build design. The role requires previous experience of working in a Design Office environment, with experience in the use of Micro station and AutoCad, together with competence in the use of Microsoft Office Packages. BIM experience would be desirable.
