Rate:Competitive, based on experience, outside IR35 (All in Day Rate required Outside IR35)About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Client Representative / QC Inspector to support the load‑in of Transition Pieces (TPs) and Jackets at Leith Docks for a major offshore wind project. The successful candidate will act as the client’s on-site presence, ensuring safe operations, technical compliance, and high‑quality execution throughout the load‑in and storage phases.
This is a hands-on, site‑based role suited to individuals with a strong background in offshore wind fabrication, QC inspection, or marine construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and report any HSE incidents, hazards, or non‑conformances.
- Oversee and document the load-in and load-out of TPs and Jackets.
- Review method statements, ITPs, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Review and verify welding procedures, coating procedures, and related QC documentation.
- Conduct surveillance and quality inspections during load-in activities.
- Raise and track NCRs and ensure appropriate follow‑up.
- Use iAuditor to log snags, observations, and inspection records.
- Liaise with senior management, yard teams, and contractors to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Provide daily/weekly reporting to the client team.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- GWO Working at Height certificate (valid).
- Demonstrable experience in offshore wind, fabrication yards, marine logistics, or similar heavy industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, including ITPs, NCRs, and specification compliance.
- Proven ability to interpret technical documentation (welding, coating, lifting, load‑out procedures).
- Competent in HSE requirements and safety management within construction or port operations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface confidently with contractors and senior stakeholders.
- Based within commuting distance of Edinburgh.
Desirable Qualifications
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector or equivalent.
- ICorr Coating Inspector Level 1 or 2.
- ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor certification.
- Experience using digital inspection tools such as iAuditor, Site App, or equivalent.
- Background in offshore wind component handling (TPs, jackets, monopiles).
