The Vacancy The Project Engineer will use best practices in project management to plan, execute, track, and report on projects. Establishing best practice for all engineering projects and act as subject matter expert and a mentor for others. They will deliver large and/or complex engineering development projects per internal agreements and/or executed contracts with our customers. The Project Engineer is involved from concept definition to project completion, including deployment. They will be assigned to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This will range from small improvement projects through to significant capital expenditure projects. This role will manage and drive OEM service level performance throughout the lifecycle of the asset in addition to providing subject matter expertise to all stakeholders. Key Accountabilities

  • To carry out engineering development of existing machines and systems Project engineering.
  • Control and co-ordinate projects whether internal or external.
  • Provide technical assistance to Production personnel to help with production problems.
  • To provide engineering advice across the site and supporting Maintenance Engineers when required.
  • To support site infrastructure, facilities, maintenance and compliance.
  • Recognise problems before they cause a project impact and act accordingly: identify the root cause, evaluate risks, plan and implement a solution.
  • Ensure the projects are completed in accordance with the agreed upon deliverables, time and budget with the internal or external customer.
  • Have a detailed knowledge of the project and the solution to be implemented, and to be the main point of contact both internally and externally on all project issues.
  • Finalise project requirements and to manage sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure that they meet their project responsibilities.
  • Procure project equipment as defined in the project budget and to maintain cost control reports to provide visibility of project expenditure.
  • Ensure that the projects are delivered within the cost estimated and that all activities over and above the project requirements are agreed with and invoiced to the customer where appropriate.
  • Ensure quality is an integral part of the implementation of all aspects of the project.
  • Maintain a project schedule document, ensuring all parties are regularly informed of any risks and actions taken to mitigate these risks.
  • Maintain a clear change management process so that all items outside the scope of the contract are highlighted and signed off by the project stakeholders.

The above list is not exhaustive. You will be required to undertake other duties within your capabilities, consistent with this role, to support the needs of the business. Essential Criteria

  • HND in Engineering (degree level) or equivalent; time served
  • Competent in engineering disciplines, particularly, automation, control systems and electrical.
  • Must possess extensive technical problem-solving experience.
  • To have the ability to write the specification, design the equipment and prepare drawings using Auto-cad.
  • To have the “hands on” skills to be able to carry out assembly, installation and commissioning.
  • Proven experience to train Maintenance Engineers and provide subject matter expertise for particularly complex technical challenges.
  • Highly organized and possess excellent and proven project management skills
