About

Are you an experienced Air Quality Consultant looking to take the next step in your career? We’re working with a leading multidisciplinary environmental consultancy seeking a talented Senior or Principal Air Quality Consultant to join their growing team across the North West.

You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of projects, from infrastructure and energy to development planning, while mentoring junior staff and shaping the future direction of a respected and forward-thinking consultancy.

Requirements

  • A degree (and ideally postgraduate qualification) in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Proven consultancy experience in air quality assessment, ideally within the UK market.
  • Strong understanding of air quality legislation, planning, and permitting frameworks.
  • Proficiency with dispersion modelling software (e.g., ADMS, AERMOD).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • For the Principal level – demonstrable leadership, business development, and project management experience.

Responsibilities

As a key member of the Air Quality team, you will:

  • Manage and deliver air quality assessments for planning and permitting projects.
  • Lead air dispersion modelling using ADMS, AERMOD, or similar tools.
  • Provide technical input and quality assurance across a wide range of environmental assessments.
  • Liaise with clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support business development, proposal writing, and client relationship management.
  • Mentor and guide junior consultants, fostering technical excellence and growth.

Why join

  • Be part of a collaborative, supportive, and technically excellent team.
  • Work on nationally significant and high-profile projects.
  • Enjoy a flexible, hybrid working environment.
  • Salary up to £65k (depending on experience), benefits package, and genuine career progression opportunities.
