Role Summary We are looking to recruit a Software Engineer who has a broad skillset and knowledge base, with a rich experience within Applications, Infrastructure and End User support. This person will be responsible for the efficient operation and support of applications (primarily customised COTS) within the Mechanical Design Department at MBDA UK and will specialize in, identifying, and solving problems and advising business users. Duties And Responsibilities The Support Engineer will:

  • Provide extensive end user support for Mechanical Design application at MBDA (UK) for over 3000+ users.
  • Have a working knowledge, proven commercial experience, of the key skills listed below
  • Be responsible for delivering support across 3 UK sites – Stevenage, Bolton, and Filton.
  • Assist MBDA (UK) in the definition of best practice and processes associated with Mechanical Design applications.

Key Skills

  • Strong analytical and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) skills
  • Strong Windows OS administration knowledge
  • Windows 10 OS / Windows Server OS – 2012 onwards
  • Strong Windows 2016 server knowledge and above
  • Competent with Application Packages
  • Basic understanding of VM's
  • knowledge of ESX VMWare.
  • knowledge of ESX infrastructure.
  • knowledge of ESX snapshots / restores
  • Enterprise services Experience – Active Directory/DFS/Certificate Services/Keystores/IIS Web Services/Apache Tomcat
  • Security Patching
  • Release, Change and Problem Management
  • Working well within a Support team environment, often on site
  • Must be willing to apply for DV Security clearance if not already held

Nice To Have But Not Essential Windchill administration / implementation

  • Ideally have spent significant time administering / configuring Windchill and completed Windchill 10.2 or 11.
  • Implementation of Windchill 10.2 or above.
  • Administration of 10.2 and above.
  • Knowledge of deploying Creo Parametric/Office PDF workers.
  • Awareness of Creo Parametric / Creoview.
  • CREO Illustrate

Enterprise services

  • IIS Web services.
  • Apache Tomcat.

Programming Languages

  • Working knowledge/experience in MS SQL
  • Working knowledge/experience in Tibco BW
