Collections Advisor

Collections Manager – Alternative Finance Lender, Altrincham

I’m currently working with a fast-growing alternative finance lender based in Altrincham that is looking to hire a Collections Manager to lead and develop its collections function as the loan book continues to scale.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven collections professional who enjoys building processes, managing risk, and working in a dynamic lending environment.

The Role

As Collections Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end collections strategy across the lending portfolio. You will manage arrears cases, work with borrowers to find solutions, and help shape the collections framework as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities;

• Manage the collections and recoveries process across the lending portfolio.
• Develop and implement effective collections strategies and procedures.
• Monitor arrears performance and produce regular reporting and analysis.
• Engage with customers to negotiate repayment plans and resolutions.
• Oversee cases escalated to legal recovery or external partners.
• Ensure all activity complies with regulatory and internal standards.
• Work closely with credit, underwriting and operations teams to improve portfolio performance.

Requirements;

• 18 months - 2 years proven experience in collections, recoveries, or arrears management within lending or financial services
• Strong understanding of credit risk and collections strategies
• Experience managing delinquent loan portfolios
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Experience in SME lending, asset finance, or alternative finance would be highly beneficial
