Are you a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor with a passion for delivering excellence in construction? Forte Engineering Ltd, a rapidly growing principal contractor, renowned for working on some of the UK’s most exciting design and build projects, is looking for an experienced professional to join our commercial team at our East Kilbride headquarters.

In this role, you will take charge of the financial management of railway construction projects, overseeing cost estimation, contract administration, and project management. Your expertise will be key in ensuring our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

If you're ready to take on a pivotal role in a dynamic environment, we want to hear from you!

About the Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing interim applications for payment and managing final accounts.
  • Overseeing contract administration, including cost control, pricing variations, and dispute resolution.
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, certifying payments, and agreeing subcontract terms.
  • Issuing early warning notices for changes impacting cost or time.
  • Conducting site visits, attending client meetings, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations to protect both business and employees.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure projects are delivered to cost, time, and quality standards.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have extensive experience in quantity surveying, ideally within railway construction or related sectors.
  • Possess strong knowledge of contract administration, including NEC, JCT, or other standard forms of contracts.
  • Are adept at reading and interpreting complex structural and architectural drawings.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Are proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Always act in a safe, ethical, and professional manner, representing Forte Engineering with integrity.

What We Offer

  • A dynamic work environment with opportunities to work on exciting and high-profile projects.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A supportive team culture committed to professional development and growth.
  • Opportunities for career progression within a growing company.
