Test & Commissioning Engineer – ManchesterAbout the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Test & Commissioning Engineer to join our clients' production team.

You’ll be testing and commissioning transformers and electrical systems - both in their factory and on-site with customers across the UK and internationally.

What You’ll Do

• Test power units and electrical assemblies to BS EN and customer standards.
• Carry out electrical tests: voltage ratio, winding resistance, insulation, high-voltage flash, and more.
• Support design engineers with new product testing.
• Commission and validate equipment performance at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in factory and field environments.
• Keep accurate test and compliance records (ISO9001:2015).

What We’re Looking For

• Able to read wiring diagrams and follow test procedures.
• Strong understanding of AC theory and safe HV working.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• BTEC ONC/NVQ (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years’ experience in testing, commissioning, or field service.

✅ Bonus points for: on-site experience, CSCS/EUSR/EFAW cards, or DNO/Transmission site knowledge.
