Senior Software Engineer

This company is addressing that challenge by developing a next-generation AI operating platform designed to function in highly secure, mission-critical, and even disconnected settings.

Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take technical ownership of backend systems and guide the evolution of a core AI-driven platform.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role combining system architecture, backend engineering, and team mentorship. You’ll work closely with product, AI, and engineering stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable backend services, while setting technical direction and engineering standards across the team.

You will play a key role in shaping how secure, high-assurance AI systems are designed, built, and scaled.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Mentorship

• Lead and mentor a backend engineering team, setting best practices and coding standards
• Own key architectural and design decisions across backend services
• Drive engineering quality through code reviews, guidance, and hands-on contribution

System Design & Backend Development

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python or Node.js
• Define and document technical specifications for complex, production-grade systems
• Ensure backend services are secure, reliable, and performant by design

Collaboration & Delivery

• Act as a technical lead working closely with product, AI, and cross-functional teams
• Translate business and product requirements into clear technical solutions
• Ensure alignment across teams on system design, implementation, and communication

Code Quality & Reliability

• Champion high standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability
• Drive the implementation of scalable server-side architectures
• Support continuous improvement of development processes and tooling

Role RequirementsExperience

• 5+ years’ experience in backend development using Python or Node.js
• Strong experience designing and building scalable server-side systems
• Proven ability to develop and operate services at scale
• Exposure to AI-driven platforms or data-intensive systems is beneficial
• Comfortable working in an agile, fast-moving environment
