The Opportunity The Group Financial Controller will lead, support and inspire the finance team to produce high-quality financial reporting and analysis for the group. The successful candidate will be a key business partner, working closely with various departments to drive strategic and operational improvements across the business. This role offers the opportunity to take charge of the financial management processes, challenge the status quo and contribute meaningfully to the companys growth. Reporting directly to the Financial Director, youll lead a small but capable finance team and help shape the systems, processes, and culture that underpin sustainable success. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering accountability, humility, and growth.
- Deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting, including monthly management accounts, board analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee and continuously improve internal controls, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting cycles with precision and clarity.
- Prepare annual audit packs and statutory accounts for external auditors.
- Lead monthly cash flow analysis and ensure effective liquidity management.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations and ensure strong financial governance across the group.
- Act as a strategic business partner to department heads, supporting decision-making and driving operational improvements.
- Challenge processes constructively and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team and wider business.
About YouEssential Criteria:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in a senior finance role within a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Proven experience working closely with senior leadership teams to drive financial strategy, performance, and governance.
- Demonstrated success in managing, developing, and motivating a finance team.
