Overhead Crane Engineer
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Role Overview:
Our client, a leading company in the industrial equipment sector, is seeking 3 Overhead Crane Engineers to join their expanding team. Ideal candidates will possess expertise in electrical and mechanical disciplines with a strong focus on multi-skilled engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals looking to work in a dynamic environment with opportunities for travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct maintenance, servicing, and repair of overhead cranes and associated equipment.
- Fault-finding on electrical panels, wiring and PLC’s.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
- Travel to client sites across the UK and mainland Europe, with occasional extended trips of 2-3 weeks (planned well in advance).
- Perform 1-2 overnight stays near customer sites during the week when required, but most nights will be spent at home.
- Work in challenging environments, including bunker halls (waste, wood chip, and ash).
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and company standards.

Ideal Candidate:
Qualifications:
Relevant electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
Experience in servicing and maintaining overhead cranes or similar equipment.
Skills and Experience:
Multi-discipline expertise with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel across the UK and mainland Europe.
Flexibility to work away for 2-3 weeks occasionally (with prior notice).
