Frontend Developer

We’re looking for a Front End Developer to join our agile, multidisciplinary team creating user-centred, accessible, and high-performing digital services that make a real difference to millions of UK citizens.

In this role, you’ll design and develop responsive interfaces that integrate seamlessly with back-end systems, helping to deliver inclusive, reliable, and modern digital experiences for all users.

💡 What You’ll Do

• Build responsive and accessible interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (such as React and TypeScript).
• Collaborate closely with UX designers, back-end developers, and product owners to turn ideas into elegant, functional solutions.
• Ensure your work aligns with design systems and accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Write clean, maintainable, test-driven code and take part in code reviews.
• Integrate front-end components with APIs and back-end services.
• Contribute to innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Support and mentor junior developers while promoting best practices.

🧠 What We’re Looking For

• Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with React (or similar modern frameworks).
• A strong understanding of accessibility and performance optimisation.
• Experience working in agile environments with tools like Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• A passion for user-centred design and building services that make an impact.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

🌍 Desirable Experience

• Previous experience in public sector or government digital services.
• Knowledge of assistive technologies and accessibility legislation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerisation tools (Docker).
