Technical Sales Engineer – Problem Solver, Technologist, Relationship Builder

Are you an engineer who loves solving complex problems and working on projects that really matter? Do you want to engage with innovative companies across industries—from designing additive heat exchangers and running 1D CFD models, to optimizing production lines and implementing full-scale PLM solutions?

At Kaizen PLM, we’re looking for a Technical Sales Engineer who’s more than just a “salesperson”—we want a curious, adaptable engineer who can dive deep into technical challenges, build strong relationships, and help clients find smart solutions to their toughest problems.

The ideal candidate for this position will be will obtain and expand the company's business relationships in the UK. In order to succeed in this position the candidate must have a solid technical understanding of the company and its products compiled with sociable and outgoing personality to build rapport with potential clients.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely and build relationships with customers
  • Provide technical support when needed together with the Kaizen PLM technical team
  • Develop initiative sales strategy
  • Develop and grow business relationships across the UK, becoming a trusted technical advisor to our clients
  • Identify client challenges and present engineering-led solutions with the support of our world-class technical team
  • Deliver technical demos, contribute to proposals, and support the full sales cycle—from first conversation to post-sale success
  • Collaborate on exciting engineering projects across disciplines (additive, CFD, PLM, simulation—you name it)
  • Shape and refine our sales strategy in the UK, proactively exploring new sectors and opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience (sales experience a plus—but curiosity and drive matter more)
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • A degree in engineering or a related field
  • A passion for engineering and innovation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you’re great with people and even better at understanding their needs
  • Solid organizational skills — you can juggle projects, clients, and emails without breaking a sweat
  • An entrepreneurial mindset — you’re excited to help grow a business, not just follow a script

Ideal Candidate:

  • Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of industry software solutions and the ability to deliver technical demos and training.
  • Sales-Driven: Experience in sales or a keen interest in developing this skill, with a focus on driving client relationships and business growth.
  • Project Management: Proven experience in project management, ideally with an understanding of technical implementations and customer-focused delivery.
  • Problem-Solver: Able to troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions that align with client needs.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical concepts in a clear and accessible manner.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in technical sales, project management, or a similar hybrid role.
  • Strong organizational skills with a track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks, from technical support to client relationship management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
