Job Overview Saturday and Sunday-AM Saturday and Sunday- PM Saturday and Sunday -Night 15 hours per week Location: Dudley, West Midland We are seeking Team Leaders to oversee cleaning operations across a busy hospital site and ensure consistently high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance. You will be required to work in a fast-moving healthcare operations environment with the ability to work on your own initiative, as part of a team, able to prioritise tasks and manage ever changing priorities. You will be the first line contact for the client and formulate swift responses to any matters raised in a confident and professional manner. Must have a flexible approach to working hours as you will support the management of a large domestic team, covering a 24-hour, 7-day a week operation.

  • Main Duties
  • Responsible for producing audit improvement plans for the client.
  • Attend regular cleaning technical and efficacy audits.
  • Management of rota ensuring suitable cover in place and overtime/cover allocated within budget.
  • Manage competency checks of staff within designated zone.
  • Escalate appropriately to management any issues that may impact service.
  • Demonstrate, with training, an understanding of contractual obligations to minimise deductions within payment
  • Undertake Personal Development Reports (PDR) for Domestic Assistants setting objectives and managing their
  • performance against these.
  • Ensure staff are fully compliant with on-site regulations i.e uniform, smoking legislations, H&S.
  • Manage all HR related issues to their staff including absence management, grievance and disciplinary issues etc.
  • Working with the Cleaning Compliance Manager to ensure documentation and meetings are held in line with
  • Mitie policy and Employment Law.
  • Confidentally deliver agreed toolbox talks as and when required. This will cover a range of specialisms such as
  • healthcare cleaning, health and safety, health and wellbeing.
  • Complete inspections of areas, ensuring any issues are identified with the relevant staff members to avoid a
  • repeat of the issue.
  • Positive communication with all staff to promote a one team attitude.
  • Identify trends when reviewing audits and compiling an internal action plan for implementation.
  • Manage consumable and labour spend in line with budget as directed by the Cleaning Manager.
  • Report any complaints in a professional and timely manner and support responses.
  • Report accidents and near misses as per company and client procedure.
  • Support staff with mandatory training achieving the agreed Mitie target as set.
  • Maintain and keep up to date Mitie Site pack documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships with ward and department leads with the allocated zone, acting as the first
  • line of response for them when issues arise or assistance is needed.
  • Support catering with the 24/7 menu if working within the required time.
  • Checking and maintaining all areas to support line manager.
  • Carry out cleaning monthly tasks in line with customers requirements.
  • Be willing and able to support operationally if resource levels fall below required need.
  • Check all stock levels and report to manager & stores for ordering.
  • Training for staff on all areas including terminal cleans and hygiene training.
  • Carry out other reasonable requests from client and/or manager.

What we are looking for

  • Leadership experience preferred although training will be given.
  • Industrial/Healthcare Cleaning experience preferred.
  • Ability to positively communicate at all levels.
  • Ability to work on own and in a team.
  • Ability to work to set schedules and on own initiative.
  • Flexibility essential in workload and possibly hours if needed.
  • Work both pro-actively and re-actively.
  • Undertake variety of tasks that are within this role, both internal and external.
  • Basic knowledge & understanding of health and safety policies.
  • Implementation of H&S policies and procedures.
  • Basic IT Skills.
  • Needs to represent Mitie values on site by being presentable, uniformed, affable and helpful at all times.
  • Willing to go the extra mile.
