We are looking for a motivated and organised Training Coordinator to join our Energy Team, supporting projects across England and Wales. Working closely with the Business Unit Training Manager, project teams, and operational leaders, you will play a key role in coordinating training activities, maintaining competency records, and ensuring employees have access to the development opportunities they need to succeed. This varied role offers the chance to build strong relationships across the business while contributing to the continued growth of our Energy division.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive training and development support service across the Energy business.
- Coordinate all local training activities and ensure training requirements are delivered effectively.
- Work with the Business Unit Training Manager and project teams to identify training needs and competency requirements.
- Analyse skills gaps and support workforce development initiatives.
- Maintain and update the Competency Management System (CMS) to ensure records remain accurate and compliant.
- Prepare and maintain training plans using competency matrices, development conversations, and project requirements.
- Coordinate training bookings, including sourcing training providers and venues.
- Prepare and distribute joining instructions and course information to delegates.
- Produce training reports, renewal reports, and management information as required.
- Monitor training expiry dates and coordinate refresher training with employees and line managers.
- Record qualifications and achievements, including degrees, NVQs and higher learning awards.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance training systems and processes.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with employees, managers, and external training providers.
- Ensure new suppliers are appropriately evaluated and meet business quality and safety standards.
- Support the wider People and Learning & Development function as required.
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the business.
- Strong administrative skills and diligence.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and producing reports.
- An initiative-taking and customer-focused approach.
- Previous experience in a Training Coordinator, Learning & Development, or training administration role.
- Experience working with Competency Management Systems (CMS) and HR systems.
- Experience coordinating training programmes and development activities.
- Knowledge of workforce competency requirements and compliance processes.
- Understanding of training budgets and supplier management.
- Previous experience within the construction, infrastructure, utilities, or energy sectors.
- Understanding of industry training and competency requirements.
- Experience supporting large operational workforces across multiple projects.
- Knowledge of training compliance within a safety-critical environment.
