The Role This role will be to provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to a Physician/General Surgeon/Dental Consultant, Nurse Specialist or group of Physicians/Surgeons/Dental Consultants, Associate Specialists, Nurse Specialist and PAM Specialists. What we'll need you to bring

  • HNC/SVQ lll in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of a range of work procedures, some of which are non­ routine requiring an intermediate level of theoretical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the range of secretarial procedures which includes advanced keyboard skills.
  • Proficient in use of software systems.
  • Understanding of medical terms; RSA3 and knowledge acquired through further experience.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence. It would be great if you also have

  • Possess or be working towards ECDL or equivalent
  • Relevant secretarial experience in an equivalent position
  • Proficient IT skills which include full working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise and work on own initiative
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure

Contract type Permanent Part Time 22.5hours Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
