Location: The locations for this role are Newport, Titchfield (Fareham) and Manchester.

We operate a flexible hybrid working model across the UK, with colleagues linked to one of our contractual locations and working between office and remote throughout the week. As part of the hybrid working arrangement there is a 40% minimum office attendance requirement.

Salary: £34,075-£38,718

Are you passionate about precision, problem-solving, and making a real impact? As a Quality Assurance Test Analyst at the Office for National Statistics, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our systems run smoothly and deliver trusted, high-quality outcomes.

You’ll design and execute test cases, analyse results, and manage defects—turning insights into action. Working closely with developers, business teams, and third parties, you’ll help shape reliable services that support the nation.

What You’ll Do

  • Define test conditions and create test scripts to validate system functionality.
  • Execute tests independently and translate results into meaningful insights.
  • Identify and manage defects, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure test strategies are effectively implemented.
  • Apply domain knowledge to assess both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Contribute to agile delivery and continuous improvement.
