Content Creator – Newport-Based
25 hours per week | Newport | Flexible working
Are you the kind of person who is constantly thinking, “That would make a great video”?
We’re looking for a creative, confident and energetic Content Creator to take ownership of social media content from idea to publication.
Based in Newport, this is a hands-on role for someone who wants to get out and about, find interesting stories, film real projects, talk to people and create content that makes people stop scrolling.
You won’t be sitting at a desk waiting to be told what to post. We’re looking for someone who can spot opportunities, come up with ideas and turn them into engaging content.
The Role
You’ll create regular content across:
- TikTok
- YouTube
You’ll adapt content for each platform rather than simply posting the same thing everywhere.
Your week could involve visiting projects around Newport and the surrounding area, filming short-form videos, interviewing people, capturing behind-the-scenes footage, photographing projects and editing content ready for publication.
You’ll also be responsible for developing new content ideas, writing captions and hooks, keeping up with social trends and reviewing performance to understand what works.
What We’re Looking For
We’re more interested in creativity, personality and ability than formal qualifications.
You’ll ideally:
- Be confident behind and in front of the camera
- Understand what makes people stop scrolling
- Have experience creating short-form video
- Be comfortable using CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar
- Understand Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube
- Be able to turn a rough idea into finished content
- Be confident approaching people for interviews and content
- Have strong written English
- Be organised and able to manage a regular content schedule
- Be comfortable travelling to different locations to capture content
- Have a full UK driving licence
Experience in solar, renewable energy, construction or a technical industry would be useful, but isn't essential.
What matters most is that you understand social media, have creative instincts and know how to make something interesting.
Performance & Bonus
This is a creative role, but it’s also performance-driven.
Success will be measured against areas including:
- Follower growth
- Engagement
- Video views and watch time
- Reach and impressions
- Shares and saves
- Quality and consistency of content
- Overall social media growth
There will be monthly performance targets and a bonus opportunity linked to results.
We don’t expect every video to go viral. We do expect you to experiment, learn from the numbers and keep improving.
Working Pattern
25 hours per week
The role is Newport-based, with flexibility around how your hours are worked.
Some weeks may involve more time out filming, while others may be focused on editing, planning and publishing.
The role would suit someone who enjoys a mixture of creative work, filming, editing, meeting people and being out and about.
Sound Like You?
If you’re someone who sees potential content everywhere, understands what makes people stop scrolling and wants the freedom to actually create, we’d like to hear from you.
If you’re constantly thinking “that would make a good video” — this could be the role for you.
