We’re working with a respected and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Cardiff that is looking for a Tax Manager to join their growing private client team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with high-net-worth individuals and families, delivering bespoke tax solutions while building long-term, trusted relationships.

As Tax Manager, you’ll take ownership of a varied portfolio of private clients, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services. You’ll be the go-to tax expert for your clients, offering advice tailored to their personal and family financial objectives, and ensuring they remain fully compliant with UK tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, families, and trusts
• Delivering high-quality compliance work, including Self Assessment tax returns and related filings
• Providing expert advisory support on a range of personal tax issues, such as inheritance tax planning, capital gains tax, and residence/domicile matters
• Identifying tax-saving opportunities and providing clear, practical recommendations
• Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted point of contact
• Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing coaching and mentoring
• Staying up to date with changes in tax legislation and advising clients accordingly
• Working collaboratively with other departments to provide a holistic service to clients

About You

• ATT qualified preferred; CTA qualification ideal (full study support available for CTA)
• Previous experience working with private clients is essential
• Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax legislation
• Excellent client-handling skills with the ability to explain complex matters in a clear way
• Proven ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
• Organised, proactive, and a strong team player
