Posted on: August 19, 2026

Quest Global is an organisation at the forefront of innovation and one of the world’s fastest growing engineering services firms with deep domain knowledge and recognised expertise in the top OEMs across seven industries. We are a twenty-five-year-old company on a journey to becoming a centenary one, driven by aspiration, hunger and humility.

We are looking for humble geniuses, who believe that engineering has the potential to make the impossible possible; innovators who are not only inspired by technology and innovation, but also perpetually driven to design, develop, and test as a trusted partner for Fortune 500 customers.

As a team of remarkably diverse engineers, we recognise that what we are really engineering is a brighter future for us all. If you want to contribute to meaningful work and be part of an organisation that truly believes when you win, we all win, and when you fail, we all learn, then we’re eager to hear from you. We are looking to expand our Engineering capability and are seeking an experienced Technical Engineering Lead to support delivery across our customer programmes.

Job Description

The Mechanical Engineering Lead will work collaboratively with the Customer and internal engineering teams to provide leadership, technical direction, and delivery oversight across engineering activities supporting mechanical and infrastructure assets on site.

This role will act as the primary technical interface between the customer, project teams, and engineering disciplines, ensuring engineering activities are planned, coordinated, and delivered in line with operational requirements, regulatory obligations, and safety standards. The Mechanical Engineering Lead will manage engineering resources and provide technical leadership across projects supporting asset lifecycle activities, including modification, infrastructure upgrades, maintenance support, and new capability delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure engineering activities are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, regulatory requirements, and company governance processes.

• Support engineering delivery across the full project lifecycle including concept development, design, implementation, commissioning, and operational support.

• Review and approve technical documentation prior to customer submission, ensuring technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and safety considerations are addressed.

• Support configuration management activities, ensuring engineering documentation, drawings, and system records are maintained and controlled.

• Provide technical oversight to facility modifications, infrastructure upgrades, and asset lifecycle management activities.

• Liaise with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders to ensure integration across engineering disciplines.

• Support planning, risk management, and progress reporting activities associated with engineering delivery.

• Contribute to Authorisation Group meetings and other governance forums as required.

• Support installation, commissioning, and testing activities where required to ensure engineering solutions are successfully implemented.

Work Experience

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Engineering experience within a highly regulated or safety-critical industry.

• Demonstrable experience leading engineering teams or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering activities.

• Experience delivering engineering solutions across the full asset lifecycle including design, modification, maintenance, and operational support.

• Strong understanding of engineering governance, technical assurance, and configuration management.

• Experience engaging directly with customers and stakeholders in a technical delivery environment.

Desirable Attributes:

• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate engineering teams and manage stakeholder relationships.

• Understanding of the nuclear industry and/or other safety critical environments.

• Experience supporting infrastructure or facility-based engineering projects.

• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or process systems associated with industrial facilities.

• Experience working within defence or MoD environments supporting asset lifecycle management.
