Job Description We are seeking a New Business Sales Manager to join our growing team, responsible for engaging, winning, and developing relationships with Accountants across a defined geographical area. This is a customer-facing role where you will build trusted partnerships that drive advocacy for Sage products and services—both within accounting practices and for their business clients. Through a structured programme of in-person visits, events, and customer success initiatives, you will play a key role in helping practices digitise and automate their operations, ensuring they realise the full value of their Sage solutions. Your success will be measured through business growth, customer satisfaction, and advocacy metrics such as revenue performance, base penetration, and Net Promoter Score (NPS). This role is Field Based covering the UK Key Responsibilities Customer Engagement and Advocacy

  • Build, manage, and grow relationships with new and existing accounting practices to create long-term advocates for Sage.
  • Drive active base growth through a consultative and customer-focused approach.
  • Develop joint strategic plans with practices that align to their digital transformation goals and support the adoption of Sage products.

Consultative Solution Delivery

  • Understand client needs, pain points, and business aspirations to recommend tailored Sage solutions.
  • Confidently demonstrate Sage’s product portfolio and advise on the optimal use of technology to enhance productivity and client service.

Market Presence and Brand Representation

  • Represent Sage through a structured “ground game” programme of field visits, events, and networking activities.
  • Leverage social media and professional networks to raise visibility, promote success stories, and strengthen Sage’s market presence.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal teams including Customer Service, Product Marketing, Product, Direct Sales, Loyalty, and Sales Operations to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Share customer insights to inform product development, marketing campaigns, and service improvements.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within CRM systems, ensuring effective pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and proactively identify opportunities to improve engagement and advocacy outcomes.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and evolving technologies that impact both Sage and the accountancy sector.

Skills, Knowledge, And Experience

  • Strong relationship management, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in customer success, field sales, or account management—ideally within software, SaaS, or professional services.
  • Excellent customer service mindset with the ability to identify and respond to client needs.
  • Results-oriented, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales or engagement targets.
  • High degree of adaptability and resilience, maintaining a positive and proactive approach in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Sound understanding of the accountancy industry and emerging digital technologies.
  • A natural “hunter” mindset—confident in prospecting, building advocacy, and driving growth across a defined territory.
