Automation Test Engineer (Hybrid – Birmingham)Location: Birmingham City Centre (Office Mon–Tues, Remote Wed–Fri)

A forward-thinking software company is seeking a Test Engineer with 2–4 years’ experience to join an agile, cross-functional engineering team delivering high-quality enterprise solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on test execution but is also willing to own and shape the testing approach at certain times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and refine acceptance criteria and requirements to ensure testability
- Design and execute test plans, cases, and exploratory testing
- Develop and maintain automated tests (UI/API/performance)
- Validate data using SQL and assess the business value of features
- Log and manage defects, participate in Agile ceremonies, and improve QA processes
- Advocate for quality and contribute to test strategy and best practices
Key Skills & Experience:
- 2–4 years’ experience in software testing or quality engineering
- JavaScript/TypeScript scripting experience
- API testing (Postman, Bruno or similar)
- Test automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress or similar)
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines, Jenkins, etc.)
- Performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter)
- Git and Agile tooling (Azure Boards or similar)
- Ideally experience using AI tools in testing, development, or delivery workflowsWhy Apply?
