About the Role

A leading UK main contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a rugby club extension project in the Midlands, including associated civil and engineering works. This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable contractor known for delivering high-quality sports, leisure, and community infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the construction site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all site operations for the rugby club extension and engineering works.
  • Oversee subcontractors, site teams, and suppliers to ensure efficient delivery of the programme.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor progress against the construction programme and report to the Project Manager.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.
  • Manage site logistics, materials, and resources effectively.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
  • Maintain accurate site documentation, reports, and records.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager with a main contractor.
  • Experience delivering sports, leisure, or community projects is desirable.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering or structural works is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
  • CSCS Card (Black/Manager Level preferred)
  • First Aid at Work
  • Full UK Driving Licence
