Software Developer

About the Role

My client is looking for a friendly, motivated Software Developer to join their IT Development team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a couple of years’ experience who enjoys solving problems, building useful tools, and helping to support the systems they use.

You’ll be working mainly with .NET WebForms (in either C# or VB.NET), along with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and plenty of SQL. You’ll help us create new features and also look after some of our long-running systems that are important to the wider business.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building new features and improvements to existing systems.
• Working with WebForms (C# or VB.NET) to support and develop our existing applications.
• Writing and maintaining SQL queries and working with SQL Server databases.
• Fixing problems, improving performance, and keeping their systems running smoothly.
• Working closely with other developers, testers, and the wider team to deliver helpful, reliable solutions.
• Sharing ideas and suggesting improvements.

What they are Looking For

• At least 2 years’ experience as a software developer.
• Confidence working with .NET WebForms (C# or VB.NET).
• Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end development.
• Experience writing SQL and working with SQL Server.
• Someone who enjoys problem-solving and improving existing code.
• Ability to work independently when needed, but also happy working as part of a team.

It Would Be Great (But Not Essential) If You Also Have:

• Some experience with React and Tailwind.
• Knowledge of Git, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Experience working with APIs or web services.
• Some understanding of UI/UX.
• Experience working in an Agile team.
