Mechanical Supervisor

The Mechanical Supervisor will oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems within facilities management. This role requires a hands:on leader with extensive experience in mechanical systems, a strong understanding of healthcare environments, and the ability to manage a team of technicians. The ideal candidate will ensure that all mechanical systems are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring safety and reliability. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the mechanical maintenance team.
• Ensure all mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems, are maintained and repaired to comply with industry standards and regulations.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to avoid system failures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work orders and service reports.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall facility operations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly those specific to the healthcare sector.
• Train and mentor team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Assist in budget preparation and manage maintenance budgets effectively.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field (HND/HNC, NVQ, City and Guilds).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems.
• Experience in the healthcare sector is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent problem:solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, particularly in healthcare environments.
• Proficiency in using maintenance management software and MS Office.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
