Eaton Valley Primary School, Required For September 2026 (subject To Satisfactory Clearances) Eaton Valley Primary School is a beautiful two-form entry school in West Bromwich, for children from Nursery to Year 6. We are so proud of our wonderful children, their families and our staff. We are seeking to appoint a School Business Manager to join our team from September 2026. This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week (or 0.8 considered), term time only plus training days. Our staff are enthusiastic, committed and work collaboratively with each other, parents, governors and the wider school community to provide a high-quality, inclusive and nurturing education. The successful candidate will join our strong Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in the leadership, management and development of the school’s business and operational function and will work closely with the Headteacher and Governors to ensure the effective strategic leadership of finance, HR, administration, premises, health and safety and ICT across the school. Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the school’s financial planning, budgeting and monitoring processes
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and securing best value in procurement
- Overseeing HR processes including recruitment, performance management and staff wellbeing
- Managing administrative, site and ICT teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Leading on health and safety, risk management and statutory compliance
- Supporting the Governing Body with financial and operational reporting
- Developing income generation opportunities, including lettings and external funding
Our ideal candidate will:
- Have experience in financial and administrative management within a school or similar setting
- Be highly organised, self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of financial systems, procedures and compliance
- Be an effective communicator, able to work collaboratively with staff, governors and external partners
- Have excellent IT skills and experience of management information systems
- Show integrity, discretion and the ability to manage confidential information appropriately
- Be committed to continuous improvement and achieving the highest standards
