The Opportunity
An established IT services company is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support a global enterprise environment. This role will involve maintaining, troubleshooting and improving infrastructure across on-premises and cloud platforms, ensuring secure, reliable and efficient IT operations.
Working alongside technical teams and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in infrastructure support, incident resolution, security and continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide infrastructure support across global operations, maintaining high levels of customer service
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across servers, networks, endpoints and cloud environments
- Manage infrastructure incidents and service requests, escalating critical issues where necessary
- Support Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualisation and storage platforms
- Maintain backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring regular testing
- Implement security patches, system updates and infrastructure hardening measures
- Monitor and respond to cyber security threats and infrastructure incidents
- Support endpoint management, software licensing and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate ITSM records and ensure incidents are managed within agreed SLAs
- Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure performance, resilience and security
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to support effective service delivery
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Engineer or in a similar role
- Strong background supporting enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments
- Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy and Microsoft 365
- Azure Infrastructure and Enterprise Applications
- VMware, Hyper-V and ideally Nutanix
- NetApp storage and backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions, including Dell technologies
- SCCM/MECM, endpoint management and patching
- Networking knowledge covering LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, switching, routing and firewalls
- Cyber security monitoring, incident response and CIS hardening standards
Desirable Experience
- VMware ESXi to Nutanix migration experience
- Exposure to operational technology (OT) environments
- Microsoft, Azure, VMware, Nutanix or cyber security certifications
- Experience within energy, engineering, industrial or global enterprise environments
- Understanding of security frameworks, compliance and governance
