Job Description

Role Summary:Operations & Ecommerce ManagerWhy this role exists

Yummy has reached a scale where operational complexity is limiting growth. This role removes a major bottleneck by taking full ownership of day-to-day operations—freeing founders and the senior team  to focus on growth, partnerships and brand expansion.

What this role owns

  • End-to-end operations across:
  • Ecommerce (yummyzine.com)
  • Digital members club (Yummy+)
  • Print production, packaging and fulfilment
  • Warehouse and customer service teams
  • Operational data, reporting and performance insight
  • Content operations supporting daily publishing
  • Operational legal processes (releases, enforcement workflows)

What success looks like

  • Operations run smoothly without founder intervention
  • Launches, fulfilment and customer experience are predictable and scalable
  • Data informs marketing, sales and content decisions
  • The business can grow 2–3× without operational stress

What this role is not

  • Not advisory or strategic-only
  • Not a passive manager
  • Not a short-term “fixer”
  • This is a hands-on operator and eCommerce Manager with real authority.

Impact on the business

  • Releases founder time and attention
  • Improves execution quality and speed
  • De-risks growth
  • Creates the operational foundation to triple the business in 12–24 months

Why now

Following investment and the successful launch of Yummy+, the business has doubled in 6 months. This is the second critical leverage hire required to unlock the next phase of growth.

Bottom line

This is a pivotal, value-creating hire that turns operations from a constraint into a growth engine.

Role Profile

Operations & Digital Ecommerce Manager

“Yummy is a luxury male-nude art, publishing and digital media business, delivered through print, ecommerce and a paid digital members club.”The Opportunity

Yummy is a growing business run by its founders. We sell high-quality printed products, digital content through a paid members club, and we grow the business using online marketing.

In the last year, the business has doubled in size after launching our digital members club, Yummy+. Our aim is to grow the business to roughly three times its current size over the next 12 to 24 months, and this role plays a key part in that growth.

We’re looking for an Operations & Ecommerce Manager to take responsibility for how the business runs day to day. This will allow the founder to step away from daily operations and focus on growth, partnerships and expanding the brand.

This is a senior, hands-on role in a creative, fast-moving company. We care about getting things done properly, using data to make decisions, and maintaining a high standard in everything we produce.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business. This includes our websites, physical products, internal teams, reporting, and making sure things are done properly and compliantly.

You’ll work closely with the senior team and report directly to a founder who has hands-on experience in ecommerce, publishing and growing digital businesses.

This is a very practical role. Most of your time will be spent making sure things run smoothly day to day. The rest of your time will be spent managing a small team (around five people) and putting simple processes in place so the business can scale.

The Core of the Job

Run the operational engine of the business so it works smoothly, every day, without founder involvement.

In simple terms:

You are responsible for making sure the business runs properly day to day and that our content is optimised to be found by customers.

That means:

  • Our websites work & optimised for marketing
  • Content is created, delivered and used effectively
  • Orders go out on time
  • Customers are looked after
  • Launches don’t break things
  • Problems are spotted early and fixed properly

Your main focus is operational execution — taking complexity and turning it into something calm, predictable and scalable. If something is operational and it’s broken, slow, messy or unclear — it’s yours to fix.

- What That Looks Like in Practice (Core Responsibility)

Owning day-to-day operations across our digital platforms and fulfilment

You will:

  • Take full ownership of how our store and members club run day to day
  • Make sure launches, promotions and content drops execute cleanly
  • Ensure orders are produced, packed and shipped correctly
  • Keep customer service running smoothly and consistently
  • Reduce friction for customers and internal teams

The goal is simple:

The business runs without drama, surprises, or founder firefighting.

-Additional Responsibilities

There is more to the role, and these support the core job above.

You will also:

  • Oversee print production, packaging and suppliers
  • Work with data to understand what’s working and what’s not
  • Support daily content workflows so nothing gets stuck
  • Manage operational staff and keep ownership clear
  • Handle operational legal processes (releases, rights, enforcement workflows)

You are not expected to be a lawyer, creative director, or marketing lead.

You are expected to keep these areas moving, organised and under control.

-Additional Technical Ecommerce Experience

You’ll also be expected to be technically comfortable with modern ecommerce.

This includes:

  • Working confidently inside Shopify (themes, apps, checkout flows, subscriptions)
  • Understanding how payments, subscriptions and customer accounts actually work
  • Being able to spot issues with conversion, checkout, billing or fulfilment flows
  • Working with data and dashboards to understand performance and problems
  • Coordinating fixes with developers, collaborators, or tools — not necessarily coding yourself

You don’t need to be an engineer.

You do need to know how ecommerce systems behave in the real world.

-Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable running a busy, growing business where not everything is perfect yet — and enjoys making it better.

You should have:

  • Real, hands-on experience running operations in an ecommerce, subscription or content business - putting the customer first.
  • A good working understanding of how websites, online marketing, payments and data fit together
  • A practical mindset — you notice what’s not working and fix it
  • Experience dealing with people, customers, suppliers and partners (often remotely)
  • A commercial head — you understand that good operations directly affect sales, retention and profit

As a person, you are:

  • Very comfortable working online and inside digital tools
  • Organised, but not obsessed with process for the sake of it
  • Happy getting into the detail when needed, but able to step back and think ahead
  • Calm when things get busy and able to make decisions
  • Ambitious — you want to grow with the business and take on more responsibility over time

-Culture & Fit

Yummy is:

  • Tasteful, premium and unapologetically bold
  • A leader and innovator in its sector
  • Fast-paced, creative, and commercially focused
  • Built by operators, not committees

We publish luxury erotic content centred on the male nude—this is not porn, but it is explicit. Comfort with the brand and its values is essential.

Our audience is engaged, loyal and growing rapidly. The brand is poised for expansion into multiple complementary markets.

—---

Location & Practicalities

  • The business is partly UK-based & Netherlands-based, but this role can be fully remote
  • We do meet from time to time, if it is easy for you to get to London or Amsterdam
  • Candidates may be based anywhere globally
  • Fluent English is essential; native-level not required
  • Competitive compensation aligned with senior responsibility and growth trajectory

Why This Role Matters

This hire represents the second major bottleneck release in the company’s evolution.

The right person will:

  • Stabilise and scale the operational core
  • Enable faster growth, cleaner execution and better decisions
  • Become a trusted partner to the founders
  • Play a central role in tripling the business over the next 12–24 months

This is not a maintenance role.

It’s a build, scale, and lead role—at exactly the right moment.
