About the role

📢 We're recruiting! People and Culture Advisor (12 month FT Contract Maternity Cover) £36-38k plus Bens. Newport/Cardiff Hybrid

Are you passionate about creating a positive employee experience? Do you enjoy a varied HR role where you can combine practical advice, relationship building and hands-on People administration?

We're looking for a People and Culture Advisor to join our team!

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being at the heart of the employee experience, providing trusted first-line support to employees and managers while helping our wider People and Culture team deliver an effective, responsive and people-focused service.

What will you be doing?

You'll play an important role across the employee lifecycle, with responsibilities including:

🌟 Providing first-line advice and guidance to employees and managers on everyday People matters, including absence, flexible working, family leave and probation.

🌟 Managing employee relations activity, supporting straightforward absence and probation cases and helping managers navigate processes confidently.

🌟 Coordinating the employee lifecycle, including starters, leavers, contractual changes and benefits administration.

🌟 Maintaining accurate employee records, supporting payroll processes and producing absence and People reports.

🌟 Coordinating training activities and supporting wider People projects.

🌟 Looking for opportunities to improve processes, guidance and ways of working to make things simpler and more effective for everyone.

What we're looking for

We're keen to hear from someone who has experience in a generalist HR or People role, is confident providing first-line advice and has a good understanding of employee lifecycle processes.

You'll be organised, approachable and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities. Just as importantly, you'll enjoy building relationships, handling sensitive information with discretion and finding practical solutions to support managers and employees.

A CIPD qualification, or working towards one, would be desirable but isn't essential.

Why join us?

This is an opportunity to make a real contribution to the employee experience, work collaboratively with a supportive People and Culture team and develop your HR knowledge and experience in a varied, hands-on role.
