Project Director – £20M Process Plant Extension | South Wales (Near Newport)
We are seeking an accomplished Project Director to take full ownership of the delivery of a £20 million process plant extension near Newport, South Wales. This is a rare opportunity to lead a complex, high-value industrial project from inception to completion, working with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role:
As Project Director, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight, planning, and execution of the project, ensuring it is delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, clients, and contractors to drive excellence across all aspects of project delivery. Your expertise in MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) will be essential to successfully integrate all technical disciplines and ensure operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the project, ensuring alignment with client expectations and corporate objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a multi-disciplinary project team, including engineers, contractors, and consultants.
- Develop and oversee project plans, budgets, schedules, risk registers, and resource allocation.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain strong stakeholder engagement, including regular reporting to the client and executive leadership.
- Identify and resolve project challenges proactively to minimize delays and cost overruns.
- Champion best practices in project management, commercial control, and technical execution.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven track record as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager delivering complex industrial or process plant projects.
- Strong MEP background with demonstrable experience integrating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing multi-million-pound budgets.
- Ability to operate effectively in high-pressure environments and deliver results without compromising quality or safety.
Location:
- Based near Newport, South Wales, with occasional travel to site and client offices as required.
