We're looking for an experienced and proactive Senior HR Advisor to join our People and Culture Team. This is a new and exciting opportunity for a confident HR professional who has a passion for employee relations. This is an opportunity for a HR generalist with significant employee relations expertise who enjoys coaching managers, influencing best practice, and driving continuous improvement across an organisation.

Role: Senior HR Advisor
Location: Hybrid, based in Cardiff with frequent travel to our offices across Wales as required.
Hours: 37 hours a week
Salary: £39,140 per annum
Contract: Permanent
What you’ll do
As our Senior HR Advisor, you will provide high-quality advice and guidance to managers across a wide range of HR areas. You'll proactively oversee the effective management of ER cases, ensuring consistency, compliance and timely resolution while supporting a positive colleague experience in line with best practice and employment law.
You will:
- Act as the lead point of contact and subject matter expert for all Employee Relations matters across the organisation.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on complex employee relations cases.
- Manage the allocation and progression of ER cases across the HR team and managers, ensuring appropriate resources are in place and timely resolution.
- Coach and support managers through disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and other complex employee relations processes.
- Upskill and develop managers to confidently manage and prioritise ER processes
- Ensure HR policies are applied consistently, fairly and in line with employment legislation and best practice.
- Review, update and develop HR policies and procedures to reflect legislative changes and organisational needs.
- Produce and present regular Employee Relations reports, analysing trends and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Provide day-to-day leadership across the HR Advisory and Administration team, ensuring an effective and responsive HR service.
What we’re looking for
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical HR knowledge with excellent relationship-building skills. You'll be confident advising senior stakeholders, managing complex situations and influencing positive outcomes.
You'll bring:
Essential
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in a senior HR Advisory or Employee Relations role.
- Up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation.
- Experience producing HR reports and analysing workforce data.
- Experience advising and coaching managers at all levels.
- Experience reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
Desirable
- CIPD Level 7 qualification.
- Experience within health, social care or a regulated environment.
- Experience leading HR projects and supporting organisational change.
Other requirements
- Full valid driving licence and access to a vehicle - there will be a requirement to travel throughout Wales to other Cartrefi Cymru offices, therefore, the use of a car with appropriate business insurance will be required.
