About The Role

George Street is an 8-bed supported accommodation service for young people aged 16–18 who are leaving care. The service supports young people to develop their independence, build life skills and prepare for a successful transition into adulthood.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in working with young people and would like to develop their experience within Leaving Care Services.

The role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to:

  • Support young people to develop their independence and confidence.
  • Provide person-centred support around education, employment, wellbeing and life skills.
  • Develop positive relationships and encourage young people to achieve their goals.
  • Work alongside colleagues and partner agencies to provide effective support.
  • Gain experience of working within a specialist leaving care service.

Skills And Experience Needed

Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential.

For the role it is essential to hold a UK Driving Licence & access to a vehicle.

More important are;

  • A passion to work with and enable people to live as independent a life as possible
  • An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives
  • A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
  • Ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations
