About the role

We are seeking experienced and motivated Senior Resourcing Officers to join our Recruitment and Selection Team, based at either Devon & Cornwall Police Headquarters, Exeter, or Dorset Police Headquarters, Winfrith. We are recruiting for:

  • one permanent position (37 hours per week*),
  • one temporary maternity cover position until 30 November 2027 (37 hours per week*),
  • a reserve pool for future vacancies anticipated during 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in attracting, recruiting and retaining talented people across a wide range of roles, including police officers, police staff, apprentices, special constables and volunteers. Working closely with operational leaders, internal and external partners including HR colleagues, you will help deliver workforce plans that support organisational priorities and create an excellent candidate experience.

Whether you are looking to develop your career internally or bring your expertise from another organisation, we welcome applications from people who share our commitment to fairness, inclusion and continuous improvement.

As a Senior Resourcing Officer, you will provide professional advice and leadership across a range of recruitment and resourcing activities. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure recruitment campaigns, promotions and postings are delivered effectively, efficiently and in line with best practice.

You will also support and develop members of the Resourcing team, helping to create a positive and high-performing environment.

For full details on the key responsibilities, please see the job description.

What you'll bring

You will bring significant recruitment experience with a strong understanding of employment legislation and a proven ability to deliver fair, compliant and effective recruitment processes. Highly organised and proactive, you excel at planning, managing priorities and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

A confident user of HR and vacancy management systems, you have the analytical skills to turn data into meaningful insights that support decision-making. A natural problem solver, you use your initiative to overcome challenges and drive continuous improvement. You will also bring previous supervisory experience and a track record of successfully managing volume services while maintaining excellent standards of customer service.

If you are able to evidence essential criteria B, C, E, F, G, and H, as set out in the job description / person specification, we encourage you to apply.

The selection process

Applicants successful through the application shortlisting process will be invited to an interview, which will include a role-related exercise. Details of the exercise, including the subject matter, will be provided to shortlisted candidates in advance.
