Commercial Delivery Manager (6047)
Job Description
Posted on: March 23, 2026
We are looking for a Commercial Delivery Manager to take ownership of commercial performance, operational improvement and strategic delivery across a designated department within our Business Services Group.
Working closely with Partners, Department Heads, and the Head of Business Performance, you will identify under‑performance, understand root causes, and drive the roadmap for improvement. This role is not just about delivering solutions — it’s about spotting opportunities, influencing stakeholders and shaping the future direction of the business.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse departmental performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities across financial, operational and resource metrics.
- Deep dive into commercial challenges — for example, low margins — to understand root causes and recommend remedies.
- Develop improvement roadmaps to enhance financial performance, operational delivery, onboarding, margins and overall business efficiency.
- Lead operational performance delivery by identifying gaps in KPIs/SLA achievement and driving corrective action.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with Partner‑level stakeholders and cross‑functional teams (HR, Finance, Data, BD&M, Resource Planning).
- Influence stakeholders across the business to adopt changes, improve processes and support delivery of strategic priorities.
- Support the development of departmental resource plans, budgets and financial forecasts.
- Use data‑led insights to drive decision‑making, commercial planning and continuous improvement across your portfolio.
Your work will directly impact:
- Financial performance – including margins, resource utilisation and department profitability.
- Operational efficiency – identifying and removing blockers that impact legal teams.
- Commercial effectiveness – improving pricing strategies, profitability and financial forecasting.
- Department performance – shaping better ways of working, governance and planning.
Essential Experience & Skills We’re Looking For
- Strong commercial acumen with experience improving business performance in a commercial or operational role.
- Ability to interpret and analyse financial information, including P&L performance and margin drivers.
- Experience identifying performance issues and creating improvement plans.
- Comfortable working with data, metrics and performance dashboards to draw insights.
- Strong relationship‑building skills, particularly with senior stakeholders and Partners.
- Proven ability to influence, challenge and drive change across different teams.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, complex environment.
- Backgrounds welcomed from commercial roles, business performance, operational delivery, commercial finance, or similar.
Desirable
- Exposure to professional services and/or legal services.
- Experience working within matrix environments.
Benefits
- 25 days holidays as standard plus bank holidays - You can ‘buy’ up to 35hrs of extra holiday too.
- Generous and flexible pension schemes.
- Volunteering days – Two days of volunteering every year for a cause of your choice (fully paid)
- Westfield Health membership, offering refunds on medical services alongside our Aviva Digital GP services.
We also offer a wide range of well-being initiatives to encourage positive mental health both in and out of the workplace and to make sure you’re fully supported. This includes our Flexible by Choice programme which gives our colleagues more choice over a hybrid way of working subject to role, team and client requirements.
We have been ranked in the Best Workplaces for Wellbeing for Large Organisations for 2024!
Our responsible business programmes are fundamental to who we are and our purpose. We’re committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace where our colleagues can flourish, and we have established a number of inclusion network groups across our business to support this aim.
