Job DescriptionData & Insights Manager – Fixed Term (12 months) Salary Band 30K - 40K
At the client, our people live by our values: Be Yourself, Pull Together, Raise the Bar, and Make Someone's Day. If you share that spirit – bringing your authentic self to work, collaborating to solve challenges, pushing for excellence, and making a positive difference to those around you – we'd love you to join our team and help deliver transformational change.
What will you be doing?
As our Data & Insights Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our understanding of customer behavior and illuminating the performance of both our digital and offline retail channels. Working closely with Marketing colleagues, you will dive deep into customer data to uncover actionable insights that enhance our CRM strategy, optimize marketing ROIs across all channels, and elevate the impact of our Loyalty program. The role will also be instrumental in our transition to a new Single Customer View platform, working alongside the Digital team to ensure data integrity and a smooth migration.
More widely, you will regularly work with large datasets to generate commercial insights and support investment decisions. There is frequent collaboration within the Commercial team to develop dashboards that condense complex data into clear, digestible reports for stakeholders. Beyond analysis, you will also be a key voice in communicating compelling narratives to the wider business, championing data-led decision making that keeps our customers at the heart of everything we do.
Who are we looking for?
You will have a degree or equivalent in a discipline that demonstrates strong analytical and quantitative thinking. You'll be an organized, approachable, and reliable professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey key information to colleagues and third-party stakeholders. We're looking for someone who is good with people and thrives in a team – a natural collaborator.
You will be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, have experience with data visualisation tools, and possess the aptitude to quickly learn how to use bespoke industry systems. As a large portion of the role involves dealing with customer data and marketing metrics, previous experience in this area is beneficial. Knowledge of the rail industry is a bonus; however, we welcome candidates from outside the transport sector.
To thank you for your hard work, we offer competitive salaries and some great rewards. There's a final salary pension scheme and significant savings on rail travel: free journeys with our client for you and free leisure journeys for your family. You and your family can also get discounts with other train operating companies. Your job comes with 25 days holiday plus standard UK bank holidays, as well as various benefits, discounts, and a Cycle to Work scheme.
