We are a fast-growing business and are successfully working alongside companies such as; National Grid, Rolls Royce, Yorkshire Water, United Utilities, Welsh Water, Severn Trent Water, Environment Agency, and the Coal authority which has allowed us to progress as a leader in the UK construction and civil engineering sectors whilst developing and maintaining an excellent reputation with our clients. As our Sustainability Advisor, you will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of sustainability strategies across construction projects in our Unit C area, ensuring achievement of organisational sustainability goals and delivery of client sustainability expectations. Your role acts as the primary advisor on carbon reduction, resource efficiency, sustainable construction methods, and social value delivery. This role involves working closely with our design, operational, support function teams, and clients, to support sustainability through the way we design and deliver projects and how we operate. You will need to attend our Leeds office 2-3 days a week and will require travel across the UK as required. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support implementation of sustainability plans, embedding sustainability into decision-making at every stage of a project – from concept to completion.
- Provide technical and strategic advice and lead on initiatives to support carbon reduction, resource efficiency, sustainable construction methods, and social value delivery.
- Coordinate and lead social value activities, maximising social impact, and ensuring social value commitments are achieved.
- Track, analyse, and report performance on carbon, environmental metrics, social value
- Promote continuous engagement and raise awareness of sustainability management practices across all project stakeholders.
- Engage and collaborate with the central support unit to ensure all activities align with the company’s overall sustainability strategy and approach.
Skills & Experience
- Chartered/ working towards chartership with a suitable industry body, experience and or education
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and sustainability approaches
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work proactively, manage competing deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
Desirable
- Knowledge of BREEAM/CEEQUAL
