A Kainos Client Group Lead plays a strategic role in supporting delivery of the business’ goals and strategic ambitions – to be a great employer, to delight our customers and to be a growing, profitable and responsible company. As a Leader in Kainos you will have an established track record in supporting and developing teams and will be responsible for a large business area of up to 200+ people. You will be accountable for the management and development of a significant customer portfolio achieving high customer satisfaction rates and significant follow-on engagements. You will have been actively involved in and lead the growth of a business sector in circa £25m+. Your role will be responsible for helping the growth of Kainos and have had responsibility for the commercial performance of a significant business segment, including the management of the profitability of that segment. As a member of the Sector Leadership Team, you will support all our sustainability programmes and take an active role in the delivery of one programme. Job Profile description The core responsibilities of the Client Group Lead include setting the Client Group strategy to deliver the Kainos 2026 ambition, leading business development and selling all of our Kainos offerings, building and leading the Client Group Leadership team all within the Kainos culture and values. Main purpose of the role & responsibilities in the business: Your Responsibilities Will Be To
- Sets the strategic direction and vision for the Client Group in agreement with the Public Sector Director, regularly reviewing against measurable objectives
- Effectively communicates the strategy with Staff, Customers, Board and Shareholders where required
- Investigates, understands and reacts to the dynamics of the markets within which the Client Group operates; similarly understands economic and technology trends and implications for their Client Group
- Defines the Client Group priorities, seeks capital investment from the Public Sector Director and wider Executive and allocates people appropriately to achieve the agreed strategy
- Leads all aspects of the operational running of the Client Group including full responsibility for commercial performance and forecasting
- Ensure successful and referenceable delivery to clients employing sustainable and profitable delivery models in line with the company culture
- Develops and adapts the organisational structure to support the business direction
- Identifies and appoints Leadership Team roles and the capabilities required to successfully achieve the desired business results
- Appointment of Leadership Team roles, reporting lines and responsibilities ensuring effective and resilient succession planning
- Develops and maintains strong senior relationships with major clients to understand their issues and opportunities
- Develops strong business networks in relevant market areas
- Promotes all the Kainos offerings to Staff and Clients seeking out full Kainos Group opportunities where possible
- Development of and adherence to Group People strategies to engage, develop, retain and attract the top talent in the market
- Ensures Kainos company culture, modelling behaviours and values that exemplify the affiliative company culture are adhered to and maintained
- Creates an environment that enables other senior people to contribute and deliver the Client Group strategy
Minimum (essential) Requirements
- Proven track record in leading a high growth services business
- Handling detailed, complex concepts and problems

- Proven track record of planning and implementing successful programs
- Fostering strong and appropriate relationships with senior stakeholders
- Highly knowledgeable of the following areas: People, Culture & Talent Development, Finance; planning and evaluation
- Continued professional growth and development in a changing business environment
- Ability to plan and meet deadlines in accordance with business requirements
- Acting as a leader internally and externally, displaying a professional, credible and positive image and attitude for Kainos
