Business Development Manager

Reporting to: MD (Anand Sodha)

Direct Reports (initial): Web Marketing Manager (recruit); Merchandising Manager(s) (to recruit), IT (outsourced)

Future scope: If KPI's are hit this role could eventually become Head of Commercial and sit on our Senior Leadership Team

Hours: Full-time

Location: Redditch, UK – travel may be required across pharmacy estate

Purpose of Role:

To drive Knights’ commercial performance across retail, marketing, wholesale, ensuring brand value, scalable growth, and sustainable EBITDA improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Lead and deliver Knights’ retail and merchandising strategy, optimising margin and turnover.

·      Oversee marketing, digital channels, and patient/customer acquisition.

·      Manage commercial aspects of wholesale trading business. Have oversight of P&L and make sure business is run in cashflow positive manner.

·      Develop technology/IT roadmap, including AI/automation opportunities.

·      Identify and execute new commercial trading opportunities

KPIs:

·      EBITDA impact from retail margin optimisation and service growth.

·      Cashflow generation in wholesale business.

·      % uplift in retail turnover and margin vs baseline.

·      Incremental service revenue from digital marketing campaigns.

·      Total bookings and in-store service conversions through Knights website

·      Brand presence

Candidate Profile:

·      Senior commercial leadership experience (Pharmacy / Retail / Healthcare).

·      Strong track record in marketing/digital transformation and merchandising.

·      Understanding of UK pharma wholesale landscape.

·      Property and estates experience desirable.

·      Comfort with data/analytics and tech-enabled growth.

·      Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability.

·      Values-driven, able to integrate into a lean, patient-focused culture.
