Mark Sattin Executive Search is working with a recently PE-backed Infrastructure business operating within a resilient and growing sector. The business has a strong platform from which to build and is entering an important period of transformation and development. The opportunity is for a Chief Financial Officer to work alongside the CEO and PE investors in shaping and delivering the next phase of the business, with a clear focus on transformation, performance improvement, and value creation.
The CFO will take a central role in leading the financial and commercial aspects of this transformation. Working alongside the CEO and leadership team, the CFO will help translate the strategic agenda into clear priorities, plans, and measurable outcomes. The role will bring greater commercial and financial discipline to the business, challenge existing ways of working, and ensure that strategic initiatives are effectively executed and delivered.
A key element of the role will be evolving the finance function to support a more scalable and performance-focused business. The CFO will lead the development of planning, forecasting, performance analysis, and financial reporting, providing the Board, investors, and leadership team with the insight required to understand performance and make informed decisions. The role will also oversee cash generation, working capital, investment decisions, and financial risk as the business progresses through its transformation.
Working across the wider business, the CFO will develop a deep understanding of the operational and commercial drivers of performance. This will include assessing the economics of key activities and projects, challenging cost and margin assumptions, and identifying opportunities to improve returns. The CFO will work with operational and commercial leaders to simplify processes, improve performance, and develop a more scalable platform for future growth.
The role will require a senior finance leader who can move comfortably between strategy and execution. While acting as a key adviser to the CEO, Board, and investors, the CFO will also be expected to engage closely with the detail, take ownership of key initiatives, and drive change through to delivery. This is an opportunity to play a central role in transforming the business and helping shape its next stage of development.
