About the Role
- This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, confident payroll professional to join a well-established business and make a significant contribution to its future success.
- Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be supporting the migration of a number of branch-based monthly payrolls from Access Select Pay to Sage 50 Payroll.
- This is a full-time role with the occasional requirement to perform on-site visits to selected branches. This role is being offered under a fixed-term contract.
Key responsibilities
- Day-to-day planning, coordination and delivery of payroll migration projects for specific franchisee branches.
- Cleansing, reconciliation and validation of payroll datasets prior to migration.
- Preparation of new payroll systems to a level ready for migration, including full configuration of pay elements and associated data.
- Providing training and support to branch employees throughout the migration process, including the creation of relevant procedural documentation.
- Responding promptly and professionally to resolve queries and ensure that deadlines are met.
- Reviewing existing branch-based payroll processes and making recommendations to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of UK payroll legislation and best practice.
Qualities required to succeed in the Role
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in performing end-to-end payroll processes in a high-volume environment, including practical use of Sage 50 Payroll.
- Proven experience of data migration and full payroll implementation processes.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory compliance affecting UK payroll including AE and RTI.
- Proven understanding of gross payroll and the typical adjustments relevant to high volume environments e.g. checking wage records, T & A systems, overtime, holiday pay.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and resilient with the ability to work flexibly on your own initiative.
- Solid intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables and Lookups.
