Job Description

Posted on: July 8, 2026

We are looking for an experienced and driven Software Project Manager to join our Programme Management Office (PMO). Reporting to the Director of Product & Programmes, you will take ownership of complex, cross-functional software projects from initiation through to successful delivery.

This is a senior, high-visibility role. You will partner with colleagues across Engineering, Product, Sales, and Marketing, and engage regularly with C-Suite sponsors and external stakeholders. You will bring structure, pace, and clarity to ambitious projects, holding teams accountable while maintaining a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of software projects, from scoping and kick-off through to effective handover and benefits realisation.
  • Define project charters and plans covering scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and communication strategy.
  • Track and report on milestones, deliverables, risks, issues, and change requests, escalating proactively where needed.
  • Facilitate Project Definition Workshops, steering groups, and regular project reviews.
  • Ensure all project documentation is complete, current, and stored in line with PMO standards.

Stakeholder & Team Leadership

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project communications, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged at every stage.
  • Lead and motivate cross-functional project teams through matrix management, creating clarity around roles, priorities, and expectations.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, and Commercial teams to align project delivery with business goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party suppliers and partners.

Governance & Reporting

  • Manage project budgets and controls, identifying variances early and recommending corrective actions.
  • Produce high-quality dashboards, status reports, and executive presentations that drive informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Support portfolio-level visibility across multiple parallel projects, providing the Head of Programme Management with timely and accurate insight.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • 5+ years of project management experience in a software or technology-led environment.
  • A degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within complex programme management environments, building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders to ensure alignment, satisfaction, and delivery of strategic objectives.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, on budget, and to scope in fast-paced organisations.
  • Fluency across both Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall delivery methodologies, with the judgement to apply the right approach.
  • Experience managing stage-gate processes and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and present at C-Suite level.
  • Strong commercial acumen, comfortable owning project budgets and making data-driven decisions under pressure.

Desirable

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile qualification.
  • Experience delivering consumer electronics projects spanning software and hardware.
  • Hands-on experience managing multidisciplinary development teams (Cloud, UI/App, Firmware).
  • Exposure to ODM, OEM, or CEM manufacturing environments.

Salary and Benefits

  • Competitive salary
  • Salary Sacrifice Schemes
  • Family Private Medical Insurance (Medical History Disregarded) and Medicash Health Cash Plan
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Life Assurance
  • Company Pension
  • Charity Days
  • 25 Days Annual Leave, Plus Bank Holidays
  • Birthday Leave
