We’re looking for a skilled Backend Developer with solid experience in Node.js, TypeScript, and MySQL to join our growing team at Novira Technologies.

This is a backend-first role, but if you also bring frontend experience (React, React Query), that’s a big bonus.

What you’ll do:

• Build and optimise backend services using Node.js, TypeORM, and TypeScript
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs
• Work with MySQL (data integrity, performance tuning)
• Collaborate with app/frontend devs for smooth integration
• Take ownership of backend components and contribute to architecture
• Write clean, maintainable, scalable code
• Participate in reviews, testing, and deployment processes

Essential Experience

✔ 3+ years backend development experience

✔ Node.js, TypeScript, TypeORM

✔ Strong SQL / MySQL experience

✔ REST API development

✔ Git, Agile workflow

Our Hiring Process:Stage 1 – Introductory Chat (~40 mins)

A relaxed conversation to learn more about each other. We’ll discuss your experience, our requirements, and include a brief technical question to gauge your approach and thinking.

Stage 2 – Technical Assessment (1 hour)

Split into two parts:

Project Discussion – Talk through a hypothetical project to explore how you approach new requirements and technical planning.

Code Review – Review code snippets and suggest improvements or spot bugs. We’re looking for clear thinking and attention to detail.

Stage 3 – Final Interview

A short wrap-up chat with our CEO to align on values, culture, and direction
