Lichfield Environment Full Time, Part Time, Permanent We have exciting opportunities for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Planners to join our Environment team based in Lichfield, Cirencester or Leeds. Depending upon experience, we are also flexible to consider candidates who would like to be based with our wider Environment teams in London and Manchester if this is a closer commute. Due to our growing portfolio of EIA work, we are looking for various levels of experience from Senior Consultant level to Principal or Associate Environmental Planner and open to Full or Part time working arrangements as we search for the best suited candidate to join our team. Shaping your future with us. Depending on your experience, you will assist in or take a lead on EIA project management and co-ordination in relation to a wide range of development types, along with delivering Environmental Statements, Screening and Scoping Requests and appraisals to programme and budget. Key tasks will include the management and coordination of multidisciplinary teams; writing and editing screening requests, scoping requests and Environmental Statements (ES); auditing topic specialist ES chapters; and liaising with clients, local planning authorities and other statutory bodies. Other planning duties to assist the delivery of wide-ranging planning consultancy services on nominated projects may also include public consultation, monitoring of planning applications and collation of evidence for appeals. Such work could be in relation to Town and Country Planning Applications or National Significant Infrastructure Projects (DCO, DNS and S36). Your areas of knowledge and expertise will include:
- For Senior Consultant level: a good level of experience of EIA co-ordination and supporting EIA projects across all sectors (residential/commercial/energy).
- For Principal and above level: A strong track record in EIA project management and co-ordination and leading large EIA projects across all sectors (resi/commercial/energy).
- Proficient in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, writing and editing screening and scoping requests, auditing topic specific ES disciplines.
- Be able to liaise with clients, LPAs and other statutory bodies, and have longstanding good relationships with key clients in the industry.
- For Senior Consultant level: Have a good understanding of a range of technical disciplines, along with good knowledge of the UK planning processes, UK EIA legislation and best practice guidance
- For Principal and above level: Have an in-depth knowledge of UK EIA legislation, UK planning system and best practice guidance
- Demonstrate a strong portfolio of EIA experience
- Experience of TCPA applications essential (and appeals desirable)
- Experience in NSIP, DCO and DNS projects, including renewable energy projects desirable
