Location: Nechells (5 days a week onsite) Reports To: Director Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Company Accountant to join our dynamic Recycling business. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, managing a team of four direct reports, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles and practices. Company Accountant Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily financial operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Manage and mentor a team of four accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular financial audits and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and improve financial processes.
  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment activities.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the CFO and other stakeholders on a monthly basis to include consolidated entity.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies and policies.

Company Accountant Qualifications:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant preferred (CIMA, ACCA. ACA)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Sage Line 50) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the scrap metal or manufacturing industry is a plus
