Primarily the focus of the work will be to monitor the services available on existing All Wales Frameworks, working in partnership with 22 Local Authorities and Independent Providers operating in Wales. With the frameworks already established there is a drive to promote effective contractual working relationships through the Consortium and ensure quality care standards continue to improve for vulnerable children looked after. The successful candidate will need to be effective at negotiation, managing difficult conversations and dispute resolution. They will be prepared to travel across Wales visiting Care Settings. Flexible arrangements regarding office based and home working are available. Some visits will need to be outside standard office hours. Collaboration with stakeholders across Wales such as CIW, Participation Groups and the Children’s Commissioner Office will be a key part of the role. Experience of working with children looked after is desirable, as is contract or commissioning experience. Welsh language skills are also desirable.
